You’re a Grand Old Flag

With Independence Day coming up, I thought I would play around with some Blank Page Muse stamps and a few newer techniques that Tim Holtz showed on one of his Saturday Distress Oxide ink demos earlier in the year.

Eagle on Shield Line Art Rubber Stamp Sc106-1
Small Wavy Flourish Rubber Stamp by Pam Bray Designs
Black Pigment Ink
Black fine Embossing Powder
Heat Gun
Blending Tools (I used blending brushes)
Craft Mat
Spray Ink: Yellow, Red and Blue (Dylusions were used in this example, but any brand will do)
Distress Oxides: Wilted Violet, Broken China and Mermaid Lagoon
Double-Sided foam tape
Glitter Glue in red, blue and white
Typewriter or printed out text “Home of the Brave” on cardstock paper

Completed card

Stamp in pigment black ink and emboss with black embossing powder.
Fussy cut out embossed stamped image.
Spraying these three Dylusions sprays on my craft mat into close but separate sections, I then gently inked my rubber stamp, tapping it into the sprayed ink. I stamped it dry on the white card stock.
These oxide ink pads were used to blend across the white, stamped card stock. I used blending brushes. The card on the right was stamped on dry card stock and the one on the left was stamped on wet then allowed to dry.
Embossed the edges using black embossing powder.
Cut up double sided foam tape and place on the back of the embossed eagle fussy cut image.
Center the fussy cut image on background and then, attach double sided foam tape together. Have your “Home of the Brave” stamped (or printed out, then trimmed into this banner) ready to stick down with foam tape as well.
I used glitter glue to help color the top fussy cut image.
